  • Bedford Biofuels is clean energy company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, with biofuel operations in eastern Kenya based on cultivation of Jatropha. As of 2012, the company has offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, Canada, as well as in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Lusaka, and Nairobi. Bedford has sales channels in Canada, Asia and the Middle East. Bedford has clear title leases to 160,000 hectares of land along the Tana River in eastern Kenya, and planted its first crop of Jatropha in that country in October 2011 after receiving a positive environmental impact assessment from Kenya?s National Environment Management Authority (NEMA). Bedford?s main markets are within Kenya itself, as well as the global aviation industry.
